The beginning of this paragraph is indented. Standard paragraph indentation is about five spaces or one-quarter to one-half of an inch, depending on which style guide you follow. In online writing, if your software doesn’t allow indentation, insert a line space to indicate a new paragraph.
In a composition, an indentation is a blank space between a margin and the beginning of a line of text.

One purpose of using MLA format is to streamline the writing process and establish a consistent and uniform way of presenting material. For this reason, there are specific guidelines you’ll need to follow when formatting your paper. The general idea is to use a 12-point font, have 1-inch margins, double-space the paper, include page numbers, and to include your personal information in the upper-left hand corner. Your paper should look like this:

In block format, the entire text is left aligned and single spaced. The exception to the single spacing is a double space between paragraphs (instead of indents for paragraphs).

How to write a narrative essay
Narration is a rhetorical style that basically just tells a story. Being able to convey events in a clear, descriptive, chronological order is important in many fields. Many times, in college, your professors will ask you to write paragraphs or entire essays using a narrative style.
A narration (or narrative) essay is structured around the goal of recounting a story. Most of the time, in introductory writing classes, students write narration essays that discuss personal stories; however, in different disciplines, you may be asked to tell a story about another person’s experience or an event.

Narration refers to telling a story. The story can be based on real events or fiction. When we narrate, we recall the facts of what happened and relay them to someone who was not there to witness the event. A narrative essay or descriptive essay generally follows the five paragraph standard essay, but be sure to check with your instructor for specific assignment requirements.
